We offer a 2 year postdoc position in Paleontology, at the Friedrich-Alexander University, GeoZentrum Nordbayern.
The opening is in the framework of the PaleoSynthesis project funded by the Volkswagen Foundation.
The successful candidate will provide scientific support for international workshops on paleontological themes. Workshops will be held twice a year and the topics will be defined based on a competitive call. You will ensure that publications emerge from these workshops and coordinate collaborative grant applications.
This time we offer a new opportunity: Workshop proponents can apply for a postdoc position. PaleoSynthesis finances the postdoc for two years (you will work at FAU) – after the workshop you are then responsible for at least one further workshop including scientific organization and publication(s) (more on our workshops).
A PhD in Paleontology or a closely related subject is required. You have a strong and diverse background in paleontology and demonstrated the ability to write high-quality publications. You have skills in quantitative methods and experience in managing people. Your English has a high standard, and you work efficiently and independently. Success in grant applications would be an additional merit.
The position is for 2 years in the first instance. The preferred starting date is September 1, 2022. The employment will be as Research Associate (full time, wage agreement E 13 TV-L, Bavaria).
