Data from the journal Palaeontology is used to examine whether the proportion of women publishing in paleontology is approaching parity.
The authors find that <20% of authors are female and highlight important barriers that remain for women and other underrepresented groups in science. Also recommendations are proposed to help improve their representation in palaeontology.
